YOUTH SYMPOSIUM
: While components of the MLK Celebration organized specifically for youth are not new to the celebration program, the 2010 Youth Leadership Symposium will be an all-new program for school-age young students of our community.  The event will focus on strengthening our community with the goal to empower the youth who attend to be leaders for equity in their communities.

Beginning at 8:00AM, students will depart from Vine Middle Magnet School for a tour of the Green McAdoo Center, Junior Achievements "Biz Town" and the Children’s Defense Fund Haley Farm. Students will participate in the Knoxville Chapter Jack and Jill Oratorical Contest as well as other specially-designed training activities.

In addition to refreshments and lunch, students will be provided with a variety of relative handouts as well as a training certificate.  This lively and educational program is to promote action toward the realization of Dr. Martin Luther King’s dream.

Students are encouraged to pre-register.  Click
