INTERFAITH PRAYER SERVICE

Mount Calvary Baptist Church

The major opening of the MLK celebration will be the Interfaith Prayer Service at Mount Calvary Baptist Church, 1807 Dandridge Ave. 37915.  This very special service will feature leaders from a variety of faith groups to produce a true spirit of interfaith worship.  Musical selections will underline the interfaith theme.

The Chair of the service is Rev. Dr. Marcus Blakemore, and Speakers include Rabbi Beth Schwartz of Temple Bethel, Rev. Chris Buice of the Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church, and Rev. Leroy Franklin, Pastor of the Mount Calvary Baptist Church.   Also participating in the service will be Rev. Harold Middlebrook of Canaan Baptist Church of Christ, Rev. Monsignor Francis Xavier Mankel, vicar general of the Catholic Diocese of Knoxville, and Pastor Daryl Arnold, Pastor of Overcoming Believers Church.
