Keynote Speaker Memorial Tribute Service

Charles E. Goodman, Jr. serves as the Senior Pastor/Teacher of the historic 3,300+ member Tabernacle Baptist Church in Augusta, GA, a position he began in December of 2006 at the age of 27.  Some of the great pastors and preachers who preceded him at the Tabernacle Baptist Church include Dr. C. T. Walker, Dr. C. S. Hamilton, and Rev. Otis Moss III.

Pastor Goodman attended Wake Forest University and Candler School of Theology at Emory University where he received the Master of Divinity.  He was a participate in the Institute of Preaching and Pastoral Renewal program at Candler School which allowed him to travel abroad to preach and study in the Holy Land in the spring of 2006.  Dr. Goodman completed the Doctor of Ministry Program at Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, DC and was inducted into the prestigious Martin Luther King, Jr. Board of Preachers of Morehouse College in April 2008. He was recognized by the African American Pulpit as one of the “20-to-Watch” young preachers under the age of 40. His sermon, “The Curse of Being Average” was featured in the summer 2008 issue of African American Pulpit. Dr. Goodman was voted one of “America’s Most Loved Pastors” in the September 2006 edition of Gospel Today magazine. He is a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
